King of the Tatami

King of the Tatami is the in-house Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition we run at Knots & Collar in Defence Colony, New Delhi, India — a friendly, well-organised day where our own members, adults and children, get to test what they have been training. Competing is not compulsory here, but it is one of the best ways to grow: it teaches you to stay calm under pressure, to trust your technique, and to win and lose graciously. We run it in a way that matches how we train — kindness over toughness — so a first-time competitor, however nervous, is looked after from the first match to the last. These albums gather the photographs from each event by date, for the adults’ and the kids’ divisions.
