Cross-side armpit on the single leg, always. Same side lets them jump guard. Cross side deletes the option. Choose finishes that delete options.
A switch is a gamble. Be certain with your attack instead — at least until the World Championships call.
The high single leg puts you in a deadlift with someone fighting the barbell. Lower back pays, guillotine waits. Distance is the safer bank.
When they lock a figure-four on your leg, the answer is not a scramble. It’s the sprawl you were already doing. Turning makes your knee light; light knees get swept.
Whoever panics first, loses — and it will usually be the one with more to lose. So don’t move. Let them take a breather. Start when they’re done trying everything.
Stretch them out so that everything they attempt costs a lot and earns a little. That’s not stalling. That’s economics.
We don’t hunt leg locks off the takedown. But if someone sweeps us into one — well. There are better and worse times to be handed an opportunity.
