Takedowns
The standing game, No-Gi: win the hands, enter on the arm drag, finish the single leg at a distance, and chain straight to mount — with the patient sprawl that defuses the leg-lock counter.
Entries
Arm drag
Drag the arm across to break their posture and open the level change — the entry the whole chain hangs off.
Hand fighting — block, check, pass
Win the grips first: block, check, and pass the hands to earn the entry safely.
Finishes
Cross-armpit single leg
Feed the ankle to the CROSS-side armpit — it deletes guard-jumping and keeps you off the deadlift posture.
The compass finish
Planted foot the needle, circling foot the pencil: circle and squat, and the finish draws itself.
Grip above the kneecap
Grip above the kneecap, never below — you rotate a joint that folds, not a bone that resists.
Transitions
Ankle-to-knees feed
Finish the takedown by feeding the ankle to your knees — the first handoff of the chain.
Knee pinch to chest handoff
Replace the knee pinch with your chest; each control hands its job to the next before it leaves.
The quarter-mount chase
The right knee hunts quarter mount the whole way up, so the takedown arrives already halfway to mount.
Counters
Figure-four defence
Against a figure-four on your leg: the heavy sprawl you were already doing, held on the kneecap, and patience — not a scramble.
